Up Close and Personal

A recent addition to the Sanstec workshop, electronics bench and inventory, has been a new digital microscope. It is something we have been thinking about acquiring for some time, but it was not until we needed to solve a technical development problem for one of our clients, did we actually take the time to research the marketplace and select the right product to suit our needs.

We were very excited indeed, when at last we could ditch the "handheld magnifying glass", (so to speak), and had the ability to zoom in further and essentially get closer to the problem. The microscope aids us all to focus on the minute details and has obviously meant that we have been able to see the troublesome components in more detail and how they interact with other moving parts. Moreover, the specific model we have purchased, allows us to capture countless images and we have consequently been able to feed details of the issue to the client with the accompanying visual evidence.

We have resolved that going forward, it will be a very useful tool for assisting us to get up close and personal with all sorts of mechanical engineering tasks, whether that may be for our clients or internal Sanstec workshop projects.
