Opportunity Knocks

So how many of you will confess to being able to remember the BBC radio and subsequent television programme, Opportunity Knocks? Presented by a variety of people including Hughie Green and Bob Monkhouse, the show provided an opportunity for unknown variety acts to perform and impress the audience. The support for each act was visually represented through the use of a measuring instrument, the ‘clapometer’ and the winner was subsequently determined based on the strength of applause. Bearing no resemblance to the latter more reliable methods of measuring sound, this machinery was a focal point of much of the show. Although it provided a huge source of amusement, thankfully engineering and technology has moved on and now there are more ways to accurately measure noise levels.

As we all know and appreciate, in business the concept of someone knocking on your door is what every business wants, but it is the ability to open doors which is also just as important. Be it by attending a networking or industry event, developing or learning technical design skills, or being approached by a new or existing client and having the chance to quote for a design and development project. Whatever the method or route, the important factor for consideration, is about being ready to seize the opportunity when it does come knocking on your door.

If you were to knock on the Sanstec Design door, unlike the show, I can safely say that you would most certainly not be provided with or song or a dance from us. You would however get a chance to judge us fairly on our creative and technical design engineering merits, and not from the readings of an applause meter.
